Bank Rates Guide

In today's low interest rate environment, it is getting harder and harder to find the best bank rates. I have written this guide to help people always find the highest interest rates for savings accounts, certificates of deposits and money market accounts.

This Bank Rates Guide is updated on a regular basis as bank rates change. Since bank rates change on a regular basis, I will try my best to help you find the best rates at any given time.  However, since they do change rapidly, you really have to visit the actual bank website to make sure that the interest rates are still the same.

In addition to writing The Debt Hawk, I also am the author of Bank Rates at http://www.onlinebanksblog.com. At this site, I help people find the highest bank rates everyday.  From time to time I will be including links to articles that I write for Online Banks Blog.

As I uncover particularly good rates, I will also add that information to this Bank Rates Guide.

Warning:  Bank rates change constantly so make sure that you visit the bank's website for the most up to date bank rates. However, I will try my best to update the rates in this guide.

Savings Account Rates

Here are some of the best savings account rates you can f ind: updated January 23, 2009

Capital One Savings Account

The highest interest Capital One Savings Account is the Capital One Interest InterestPlus Online Savings which currently paying 1.55% APY with an extra 10% interest paid quarterly if you keep a minimum balance of at least $15,000.

American Express High Yield Savings Account

The American Express High Yield Savings Account is currently paying 1.50% APY.  American Express requires no minimum balance which makes it a great savings account.

Ally Bank Online Savings Account

The Ally Bank Online Savings Account currently has an interest rate of 1.49% APY.  I really like Ally Bank right now because all of the bank rates are competitive, including CD rates, checking rates and savings rates.
