Wachovia Online Banking
Wachovia Online Banking was my first bank where I could do my banking on the Internet. At the time, I was amazed at how I could monitor my bank accounts, pay my bills and transfer funds from my Wachovia checking account to my Wachovia savings account.
It is funny how Internet banking has become some commonplace. Now my kids can't imagine life without ATM machines and banking websites.
Here are some of the things I loved about the Wachovia home page.
Wachovia Online
The Wachovia Online Banking services have a very easy to use home page. Users can login or pick from an assortment of categories. There are online services, retirement planning, investing, insurance, banking, lending, and rates of the different types of account. There is even a section on customer service to assist you with ordering checks, change of address, wire transfers, and common questions. They even explain how they can protect you against online fraud.
If you are a member with an active online account, you can login on this home page. If you are not a member yet, there is an easy to follow form that can be filled out online to apply for an account.
Under the Banking heading there is access to checking, savings, CD’s, credit cards and check cards accounts.
Wachovia Checking
There are 3 standard checking accounts, the Free Checking, Free Student Checking, and Crown Banking. The Crown Banking is the premium account and there are two of these with Crown Classic and Crown Select. With the Free Checking there are special accounts for those over 50 years of age, and one called Way2Save that turns everyday banking into automatic savings.
Wachovia Savings
For the Saving accounts there is the high performance Money Market Account, the Premium Savings, Way2save, and Health Savings Account/HSA. The Way2Save is a saving plan that allows you to use the account as a checking account to make purchases while still earning 5% APY on the balance, with an 5% annual bonus of up to $300. The 5% savings is only good for the first year. On the second and third year the APY is 2.00%.
Wachovia CDs
There are also fixed CD’s and IRA CD’s at this financial intuition. These bank funds are protected by the FDIC for up to $250,000 currently.
